Electric Aircraft Ready to Fly Year 2035

Voltaire, the aircraft with electrical propulsion technology and produce zero emissions.

Many concepts of future aircraft displayed at the Paris Air Show, France, which took place last week. One of the most innovative is VoltAir, aircraft with electric propulsion technology and produce zero emissions.

Strong and efficient, the plane has the resources of a pair of advanced li-ion battery under the "nose" of his, which sends power to a pair of co-axial, propeller that spins in the back of the plane. VoltAir designed not noisy conventional aircraft.

When the plane landed, the battery is easily removed and replaced by new ones, thus reducing complexity. Resources were not as expensive jet fuel. Although the design of the aircraft would not be much different today, but the fuselage will be made of composite materials, so much stronger and lighter. Drag the aircraft will be reduced by curling wing tips as the Boeing 787.

Because VoltAir will be based on high temperature superconducting (HTS) materials, development of a serious aircraft can not be seen in the near future. However, the aircraft maker EADS to say, this concept will become reality by 2035.

"VoltAir is the concept of long-term research, rather than short-term commercial approach. Our research has seen the future and can be useful in many ways," said Jean Botti, EADS Chief Technical Officer.

Botti said the current EADS spur research center that supports the realization of the plane to discover new ideas. Estuary is the realization of zero-emission electric propulsion is more sophisticated.
