New Comet May Seem Two Year Again

Institute for Astronomy, University of Hawa, Pan-STARRS Komet Panstarrs
University of Hawaii astronomer, USA, discovered a comet that is expected to be visible from Earth in the next two years. The comet was first discovered in the observation date of July 6, 2011 by Pan STARRS 1 telescope on Haleakala, Maui, Hawaii. The existence of the comet has been confirmed by astronomers UH Manoa, Richard Wainscoat and Marco Micheli, a day later in the observation using telescopes on Mauna Kea.
Found the comet named C/2011 L4 or simply called PANSTARRS, taken from the name of the telescope used to find it. Currently, the comet was located at a distance of 1.2 billion kilometers from the Sun, between the orbits of Saturn and Jupiter. However, in February 2013, the comet will reach its closest distance to the Sun, about 50 million kilometers, and thus can be seen.
Brightness of this comet when seen will depend on the number of owned and tersublimasi ice into gas when the comet is moving toward the Sun. However, some of the calls, the comet is likely to be one of the tercerlang in the last 10 years. In the next few months, astronomers will observe further to obtain accurate predictions about the brightness PANSTARRS.
PANSTARRS Comets originate from the Oort Cloud, a place believed to be home to comets berperiode long. Objects in the Oort cloud is only modestly affected the gravity of the Solar System so it can be 'disturbed' by the gravity of the nearest star. Wainscoat said, "C/2011 L4 has a similar nearly parabolic orbits, that is, it probably came first comet approaches the Sun and may never return."
Although moving closer to the Sun and will be seen by humans, these competencies comet hit the Earth certainly zero, so harmless. In contrast, comet offers a rare opportunity for astronomers to study the material left over from the early formation of the Solar System. The discovery of this comet is actually a bonus, because the main purpose of the observations of astronomers who discovered it is to find asteroids that could potentially hit the Earth.
