Satellite imagery released BMKG BMKG (Meteorological and Geophysics Agency), Thursday (06/30/2011) at 20:00 pm.

Heavy rains in the western region of Indonesia that occurred a few days is expected to drop until next week. It was triggered weather anomalies called the Madden-Julian Oscillation. Weather disturbance is expected to last for a month.

According to the Head of subfields Extreme Weather, Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Kukuh Ribudianto on Wednesday (29/06/2011), rainfall in western Indonesia, in addition due to the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) is also related to warm sea surface waters of western and central Indonesia . Air circulation is also closed in southern Sumatra. MJO phenomenon of the last few days was observed in the Indian Ocean, Indonesia has not signed, but the impact in western Indonesia.
